Nice concept. Can only record one engine (mine has 3). Can only record one battery (mine has 4). No help file or documentation. Save your money until this improves.

I dont know how you have a boat and dont have this app. $5...cmon. In boat dollars, its a rounding error. Literally, you burn that much fuel getting away from the dock. With this, all your boat information is handy...and it isnt so much about the summer, when everything is going great...its the winter. In one place you have your todo list, a list of all the commissioning supplies you bought last year. Pictures of what you did and how you did it. Fuel costs...battery age...it is awesome stuff. Hats off to the developers. Slickest trick was to take a parts picture I needed while on the boat, then at home Google the part numbers, get options for repair and save the picture in the repair file for the next guy, along with a list of what I spent and where. Yes, I could have done that with pictures and iPads and files, but this way I know that all the information is contained in one simple place for as long as we have our boat. Cool stuff.

It crashes the moment I open the app on iOS 6.1 Cant use it at all.

Had an issue with the latest version but the tech folks contacted me right away with a fix (I should have gone to their website, but I wasnt thinking straight)…Anyway, the app is nice. While not everything (pictures) can get exported, there is a way to save data in case you need to update down the road. So far its my goto app for tracking all we do on the boat.

I have used the prior version for many years and it was great. Over the years there were many great additions with the best being iCloud to share data between devices. Bought this current version as it was on sale for $0.99 and I could see what it was like. First thing I noted was no iCloud. This makes getting my old data into the new app really hard and then I have it only on one device. I will continue to use the old version until this one is iCloud enabled. Also the old version is really inconsistent with iCloud now, which is really too bad. I really hope they invest a bit in this to get it to at least the level of the old one. In December before the move to the new app and when iCloud worked consistently this was a 5 star app.

Loved the old version. Used it since I bought my boat 3 years ago. Since the upgrade its been nothing but a disaster. Fought with exporting old data and importing into the new version. Once that was finally done and everything looked to be working. When I tried to enter in new data it kept dumping me out of the program. Im back to using the old unsupported version. What a shame.

I use this app (the previous version) to log and list about everything. A nice aspect of it is that the interface is clean and simple to use. Ie. I like that when I am done on the fuel dock I can pull my iPhone out of my pocket and log the fuel in 30 seconds (and run reports later on). Definitely a must-have app for boaters.

I just bought this app and it keeps crashing when I try to enter data!!!

Purchased this on the advice of a friend and I struggle to get it to accept my boat to even get started. I see that is says that some fields are required but thats not showing up on my iPad. You should be able to enter basic info then come back and fill in information down the line. My initial reaction is this is a poor app. Update: After posting this review the developer reached out to me. I deleted the app and was able to successfully reinstall the app and use it. I plan to give it a thorough test while I am cruising this weekend. It will be very useful and Im glad I got my issue resolved

Ok as advertised I bumped straight into update..... Now app will not open..... Please help.... This is such an awesome app, but soo buggy.

I bought this app when it would sync with my iPad, then they disabled iCloud. I contacted the developer about their promises to utilize a sync function in the future, as they advertise in their update comments, and they promised it was coming. That was a long time ago. I guess they gave up. I find the app not near as useful and I would have purchased something else.

I have been using it from version 1 about 2.5 years ago. I moved all my stuff from my old online logbook to the Suite so it was all in one spot. Lots of information and great reports. The team is also great to work with for enhancements and fixes. Worth the $$.

I have been with this app from its birth and have loved it ever since. I had some downtime in the older version since something within my data was skewed, but the support with this company is amazing! Every single email I sent was promptly answered and they worked to resolve the issues quickly and listened to what I had to say about any issues. The current version however, is working flawlessly again and provides a fantastic way to track all of my trips, fuel, pump outs....while also having all of my boat specs with me at all times. Amazing app, I wouldnt want anything else for my boat log.

It worked for awhile a few versions back but hasnt worked recently. Ive spent a lot more time screwing with this than any other iTunes app. Programming by total amateurs, dont waste even a cent on this.

Boating Suite 2.0.3 is lacking features that were available on BS 2.3.3 like iCloud data sync. There is lack of info explaining the reason BS 2.3.3 was discontinued and on top of this, the version of the new app is confusing...

When I’m wrong about something, I’ll admit it. The voice input is working (why it was grayed out before, I don’t know). However, the scrolling does not work, so I don’t know what Tonka is talking. As for praising, I have in the past and have communicated with the developer several times. A few times he made changes that improved the product for me, but ultimately — at least in my case —it doesn’t do what I need. I’m glad others like it as I don’t want to have the developer fail and competition is always good.

Boating Suite is an absolute “must have” for every boater. This is the most comprehensive app of it’s kind and it’s perfect for logging all of your boating information — whether its your trips, maintenance, fuel, expenses, etc. Every boater needs this app!

This app developer needs to do some research on the other apps in this category. It has a good foundation and I like the reporting style, especially the TOC. But it needs: - A proper iPad interface. - iCloud for sharing data across multiple devices. - Remember vendors and other information so I dont need to type the same information over and over again. - Add estimated cost the the to do list and allow me to mark it complete. This could move it over to an expense or maintenance entry and include in the TOC. So a good start. It could become a great app, but just needs some intelligence to move it from a data display to a really smart and useful app.
